Calling all Bands :

Battle of the Bands - Saturday, April 29
Now in it's 14th year, the Battle of the Bands has grown into a signature event in our community that showcases the talent, independent practice and dedication of the Northwest Corner’s “garage bands”.
The show draws talented bands that perform in front of an enthusiastic crowd and the net proceeds from the event benefit the programs and services of HYSB, a non-profit dedicated to supporting youth and families in Northwest Connecticut.
Each year, this exciting event draws families from all over the northwest corner. The community comes out to show it's support as competing bands 'battle' for cash prizes. The talent is top notch too as past competing bands have gone on to expand their careers in music .
This exciting event draws local bands from all over our area that perform in a variety of genres. Past shows have not only included performances from local HVRHS bands, but also Hotchkiss School, Salisbury School, and the Millerton area.
Groups give it their all in front of a panel of judges. Bands are judged on a variety of areas as they compete for cash prizes in four categories: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and People's Choice. To make this year's exciting event possible, we've received generous sponsorship from our friends over at the Northwest Corner Prevention Network.
